In general, we seek students who are in their senior year who have a history of a strong academic performance. Duties generally include proctoring exams and marking assignments.

If you would like to be considered for a teaching assistant or marker position in the Fall 2025 or Winter 2026 terms, please review the detailed notice below. Fill in the application form and return it by Friday, September 19 to criminology@smu.ca.

Research Assistantships

The Department of Criminology’s faculty members are actively engaged in grant-funded research that often requires the support of undergraduate and graduate student research assistants. Students are encouraged to contact individual faculty members about the opportunities for volunteer or paid research assistant positions. Job postings will be periodically posted here.
